The S-400 Triumph is a long-range surface-to-air missile systems produced by Almaz-Antey. The S-400 Trumph intends to participate, ECM, radar-picket, Area Director, strategic reconnaissance and tactical aircraft, tactical missiles and theater ballistic, medium-range ballistic missiles and other air transport current and future attack . The S-400 Triumph also aims Tomahawk cruise missiles and other missiles, including precision-guided, and AWACS planes, at distances of up to 400 km. It can also detect stealth aircraft and other targets at all altitudes of their combat employment and maximum ranges. Development work of the S-400 Triumph missile system air defense is a visible embodiment of cooperation among the developers of weapons. Besides the Almaz central design bureau, these include leading companies in the Russian defense industry, such as Fakel Design Bureau of machine building, the Novosibirsk Research Institute of Measuring Instruments, the St. Petersburg construction of special machinery Design Office, and a host of others. A regular S-400 battalion comprises information of at least eight launchers with 32 missiles and a mobile command post. The main differences between the S-400 and its predecessor are in the development of this radar and software, and the addition of four new types of missiles, as well as legacy 48N6E/48N6E2 used in the S-300PMU2 Favorit. The S-400 entered service with the Armed Forces of Russia on April 28, 2007, replacing the S-300 air defense. In September 2008, Russia has two systems that are already on active duty. Russian military plans called for sending 18 battalions to the year 2020 as the backbone of their ability to surface to air missiles. Belarus will become the first export customer. In April 2009 during the IDEF exhibition in Istanbul Rosoboronexport reported that the Turkish government had expressed strong interest in buying S-400 air defense systems.
